Já faz algum tempo que salvei esta frase nas minhas anotações. Quando a li pela primeira vez, soube de imediato que tinha de a ilustrar. Não só pelo tema, com o qual me identifico, mas pela descrição, visual e afectuosa, do que sinto ser a melancolia. No meu trabalho sempre esteve presente uma certa dose de melancolia, que me é característica... ☺️

Em termos de técnica inspirei-me nos céus incríveis, em aguarela, de Jean-Jacques Sempé, uma das maiores referências na minha ilustração. Admiro o seu trabalho cada vez mais. É um verdadeiro génio! :)

It's been some time since I saved this in my notes. When I first read it, I knew right away that I had to illustrate it. Not only for the theme, with which I identify myself, but for the description, visual and affectionate, of what I feel to be melancholy. A certain amount of melancholy has always been present in my work, which is very characteristic of me... ☺️

In terms of technique, I was inspired by the incredible skies, in watercolour, by Jean-Jacques Sempé, one of the biggest references in my illustration. I admire his work more and more. He's a real genius! :)

Apesar de alguns projectos irem parar a uma gaveta, estes não deixam de ser necessários a todo um processo de evolução e crescimento, enquanto criativo. Cada traço, esboço, noite mal dormida, etc., fazem parte dessa mesma jornada. O fundamental é nunca desistirmos desses sonhos.
